What if I do not have an NTU email but I want to sign up with The Hotbox?

Please send an email to [email protected] with the following details: a photo of your matriculation card/staff pass, name, preferred email, mobile number, preferred Hall for your food delivery.

We will use your matriculation card/staff pass for identity verification purposes ONLY.

If your stomach is growling and we do not reply you in time, please grab a good buddy along your corridors and order through his/her account.


Why should I sign up to order?

Signing up makes your ordering experience easy. We remember your hall of residence in our system for a smooth ordering experience every time.


Is The Hotbox open 7 days a week?

Not at the current moment.. But we'll consider doing so if we there is sufficient demand for it! The Hotbox is currently delivering supper from Mondays to Thursdays.

Is The Hotbox available at other institutions apart from NTU?

Nope not yet! If you are from another educational institute in Singapore and would like supper delivered there, do let us know at [email protected]!


Why are there cut-off timings to order my food?

We need you to make your orders by our cut off timings because it takes time for the food to be prepared and delivered. Orders made by 2330 will arrive approximately  at 0030.

 

Can group orders be taken/Can I order more than one portion?

Yes, definitely! Feel free to order on the behalf of your friends. But do remember to bring extra muscle boys (or girls) along if you think you can't handle the weight of the food packets alone.


Why is there a cap on the number of orders?

Some of the supper stalls might not be able to churn out enough quantities of food items to meet extreme demand (should such instances occur) so we like to err on the side of caution.

At the same time, we do not want to make empty promises and disappoint our loyal customers by being unable to meet their demands. Therefore we have no choice but to place a cap on the number of orders at the moment. 


Can I order anything else besides what’s on the menu?

As of now, it is not an option yet. We do strive to offer a variety of food items over the week so that our customers are able to experience a variety of supper food. 

However, do feel free to give us your suggestions at the feedback page. We will consider any reasonable suggestions and implement them as soon as we are able to!


What if I want my orders to be delivered to another hall?

If you would like to collect your supper at another hall, do remember to select the correct food collection point at the checkout page!


When will my food arrive?

Your food will arrive at approximately 0000 to 0100. However, do allow an allowance of up to +/- 30min on the food collection due to possible delays in delivery at each hall.

Changes in delivery timings are also subjected to unforeseen circumstances (for example, unforeseen traffic conditions, wet weather, manpower shortages at the vendors etc)


Will the food be warm/hot when it arrives?

Yes! We will ensure that to the best of our ability when we deliver the food.


Where/How do I collect my food?

There's a different food collection point for each and every hall.

We’ll be operating on a cash on delivery payment/collection system for a start so just bring along your money (have exact change if possible) and collect your supper from our friendly delivery drivers!


Does my food come with utensils/ plastic carriers?

Yes, all food packages come with their respective utensils. As for additional plastic bags to carry your food, please ask our delievery drivers for them.


What if I am not a resident of any halls? Will I still be able to order supper?

We welcome orders from any current NTU/NIE student/staff as long as they have a valid NTU email address. However, we are only allowing collection at our pre existing collection points, so do choose your pickup points accordingly!  

For students/staff without NTU email addresses, please see point 1. 


What form of payment is accepted?

We are only accepting cash-on-delivery payment at the moment.


What if the food delivered is of unsatisfactory quality?

If the food you received is not of satisfactory quality, please write us an email at [email protected] with a short description of your dissatisfaction and an attached photograph of the food item.


How do I cancel orders?

You can only cancel your orders within a 15 mins grace period after your order is submitted. Any orders remaining after the grace period will be deemed as legit.


Do you accept suggestions for other types of food?

Yes, definitely! You can send your suggestions of any sorts to [email protected]


Are you able to do deliveries for Hall/School events?

Yes! You can contact us at [email protected] with the relevant information (i.e your name, contact number, time & date of your event, quantity needed etc) and we’ll get back to you shortly.
